Frivolous: playful, lighthearted, trivial; the little things in life that should be savored.
Highlight of the week: A full day off. I can't remember the last time I took one of these. And I worked really hard to plan ahead and make room for it in my life. It was so amazing to spend quality time with my family (that was LONG overdue) and not feel like I needed to get back home to a list of things I had to get done by the next day.
Yes, I did this:
1 -- Locked myself out of the house and had to sit on my driveway for 30 minutes waiting for my dad to come rescue me.
2 -- Put on my big boy pants and disposed of a dead bird that was in my front yard. Oh the joys of singleness.
3 -- Tinkered with the remote for a full six minutes trying to get the audio to work before figuring out that the volume was just turned down all the way.
4 -- Realized that I've been washing my hand wash/delicate clothes with delicate FABRIC SOFTENER rather than delicate detergent for the last six months.
So ya, it wasn't one of my brighter weeks. But it WAS amazing in so many other ways. I can't decide what to write about, there were so many blessings. I had to say goodbye to my Canadian friend Kari, who has been here for the past three months, and on her last day here, we sat outside in perfect weather at a Mexican cafe and ate the best table-side guac and street tacos. It felt like a holiday and I loved it.
Celebrating: Yesterday was Align's 2nd birthday! I can't believe it's only been 2 years since I launched my album design company. We now have 9 designers and serve over 300 professional photography studios worldwide and it feels like MUCH longer! There is definitely a lot to celebrate in our short two years and I can't wait to see what the next year holds in store!
I also want to celebrate Janelle -- our newest associate photographer -- once more! She and I got to spend some quality time together this week training, doing head shots and having dinner, and I can't wait until everyone gets to know this girl! She is incredible in so many ways -- she is a person of extraordinary depth and is so well-grounded. I feel humbled and blessed to have her on my team!
Feeling Blessed: I get to shoot TWO weddings this coming week! And the excitement kicks off tomorrow with this cute couple's big day!
