My good friend Amy was married on Saturday in Modesto and I was so blessed to be a part of the wedding. Amy married a fellow teacher who is originally from Portugal. Joel (pronounced Joelle) is very charming and clearly cherishes my sweet friend. Amy was glowing all day and giggled constantly. It was fun to see her so happy.

The day started in typical fashion with hair and make-up. I caught a cute shot of Amy's sister and matron-of-honor Julie as she got her hair done:
We went to the mall for make-up. Amy had 10 girls stand up with her so there was LOTS of make-up time and I had a little too much fun:
Love this one:
Amy's niece Ashley had three girls putting curlers in her hair at one point and she just sat so patiently:
Getting into the dress:
The dressing room was in a church nursery so both me and Ashley made the most of it. Me making the most of it:
Ashley making the most of it:
I didn't get to spend any time with the guys while they got ready so here's a couple portraits to show off their handsome-ness:
Love the mafia-esque feel of this one:
Two of Amy's cousins were candle-lighters:
The beautiful church where the vows were said:
There were plenty of laughs even during the ceremony:
Man and Wife!
The church Amy and Joel were married in was actually located right outside Modesto in Ripon. And on the very day of their wedding, the town of Ripon held their annual almond blossom festival. It's a big deal there I guess. Driving around the area I couldn't take my eyes off of the beautiful orchards--they were amazing. So after the ceremony we jumped in a car and headed over to an orchard to take advantage of the beauty. We were pressed for time but still were able to get some great shots.
The reception was one big party. The bouquet and garter toss were especially entertaining:
Joel's mother caught the bouquet and was quite shocked:
And I love this reaction as Amy's brother Tim caught the garter:
