Day one of zero-60 was a huge success. This is our awesome group (minus me). From L to R: Mark Capilitan (Ireland), Brandi Schneider (Arizona), Trina Knudsen (Utah), Cristi Owen (Arizona), Amelia Strauss (Alabama), Arden & Brett--the co-leaders (Alabama) & Esther Martin Cossio (Spain).

During the four days of the workshop, Arden and I are each teaching 2 days. Today was my day to speak on photography-related topics. We spent part of the day inside talking and taking notes and then ventured out to practice. The weather cooperated beautifully for us. Arden and Brett were kind enough to let me use them for a mock engagement shoot to show how I go about working with a couple during a shoot. Everyone complained that it wasn't very realistic though because Arden and Brett are total pros and needed little to no direction to come up with this kind of awesomeness:

Everyone brought their cameras and had a chance to direct Arden and Brett for a bit themselves as well. Cristi was so cute--she fit perfectly in one of the windows and while she was shooting inside I caught this:

And of course I had to shoot these amazing scenes when I saw them--which isn't hard. They're everywhere you turn here.
This is that same house (right next door to ours) that I shot the rainbow over. It's amazing how much the sky changes here.
I got some really great feedback from the group today and am so happy that people are feeling encouraged. It really is such a great group and the small size is ideal because we can really give individual attention and make sure everyone's questions are answered.
