Amber - Do you have the pattern for the pinwheel blanket?? I lOVE IT!
heather - so fun! I have crocheted for years and love it as well! can't wait to see the finished blanket!
Amanda - Look at you go! That is a skill I just don't have the patience for. I can hardly wait to see your beautiful finished blanket!
erin harvey - I'm so glad I'm not the only one under 60 that crochets, knits, and quilts. You'll have to send me the instructions if you successfully make that quilt. Knowing how to crochet does make you cool, especially if you do it while watching the history channel. :)
Esther - OMG! You've read my mind! I've been planning to crochet a blanket like this since the beginning of times and never found time to do it. Now you've push me onece again to do it. Thanks for always being such an inspiration :)
Gail - You're so adorable and YES YES YES this is why I want us to be neighbors (you already are in my mind ;) because I could come over, we could share cups of tea and our knitting needles could clack away together :) BTW: I'm totally impressed you crochet AND knit! I stick with knitting myself but I love the look of the granny circle/square throws! That one is going to look AMAZING!!!!
Karen (Mikols) Bonar - I used to hand quilt ... I miss it, although it's more of a space issue, setting up a big ol loom and all. This looks great!
Tiffany - Melissa, I too used to chrochet with my grandma and learned to make stuff like that when I was a kid. Isn't it so fun! I can't wait to see how your blanket turns out. I love the colors you picked!! Looks nice!
Tammie - I would LOVE to be able to crochet & knit :) I was on bedrest with my daughter, needed to do something 'relaxing' and got so frustrated I went back into preterm labor!! Sooo not relaxing for me. It's been 8 years, maybe I should try again?? The scarf is BEAUTIFUL and I LOVE the color!
Stacey - Love it!!! I took up knitting about a year ago (after learning as a tiny tot from my grandma) and it's so therapeutic. I do so much THINKING during the time my hands are working! Have fun, I love the scarf, and can't wait to see your blanket someday!
Jill - Everyone called me grandma in college, too... heck, they call me that now. I'm completely with you crafts are both relaxing and fun, and I think that's a pretty rare thing. I love the scarf, and I might just have to join you in making that blanket. Very pretty. Oddly enough, my post today was about crafts, and I have crocheted hearts on it if you're interested!
Laurie May - I love to knit and find it very relaxing. I wish I'd shown you the drawstring pouches I made for Jessica to give her bridesmaids. See the website address for a photo (amateur, of course!).
marisa - I totally relate to the grandma in college thing. Fortunately being at a private Christian college made it a little less weird for me to sit around crocheting in the student lounge. At some point I abandoned crocheting for embroidery (smaller projects for my small space) but those granny squares are calling my name. A granny-square blanket has been on my 'someday' list for as long as I can remember. I'm excited to see how yours turns out!
Thresha - They look awesome.....I wish I knew how to crochet!!
Kendra Jean - So fun! I have always wanted to learn how to crochet! It is on my to do list to learn someday:) that quilt is going to be so comfy and fun colors! Can't wait to see the finished product.
Scott M - Very cool Melissa, and great work (all your craftiness and photography). Is it just me, or does Dixie just not care about what is going on (she looks pretty comfortable on the chair)? Keep up all of the great work!
Tira J - LOVE ALL OF IT! I am a knitter and just picked up a book to make some hats for my little models. I really want to learn how to crochet, so that will be on my list! Those little designs for your quilt are AWESOME! Knitting is a huge stress reliever for me.
Melissa Jill :) - Thanks Tiffany! The scarf is Cascade Yarns ecological wool and the blanket is Cascade Yarns !00% superwash wool.
Melissa Jill :) - Hey Jamie! I think it took around 4-6 hours. Not sure. Super-quick though!
Tiffany - Love it! What yarn is that, it looks amazing! FYI I carry your Depth of Field tute in my camera bag, so very helpful!
Alicia -- Beba Photography - Beautiful scarf! Love it : )
Jen O - I love the colors you chose for your quilt - so cozy! I know what you mean about making pretty things with your hands - I feel the same way about baking and scrapbooking. So satisfying and relaxing.
jamie delaine - i love that blanket!! looks amazing .i can't wait to see the photos. i can't believe you finished that scarf in two days... how many hours?
