Crystal - Thank you for this post. Your thoughts on your business are helping me to solidify my thoughts on my own. I see are priorities are remarkably similar. Now I just need to make sure I get in exercise and time with God!
Gabrielle Bass - Very inspirational. I was just thinking..gosh I need to write a business plan. After reading this, I take comfort in knowing my business plan is what I plan to do for that day. Thank you!
Karen (Mikols) Bonar - You deserve a hug. I've been in biz for 5 years and don't have a formal biz plan. Honestly I feel embarrassed about that. But not anymore. Thanks, MJ!
rich - such great advice - sometimes it seems like when you're a business owner that there's always more work to do. here's to prioritizing!
Sarah - Ummm, I personally think that your 101 in 1001 is your business plan - albeit it includes some personal goals. Thanks for your post.
David Fenwick - A very thought provoking post Melissa. I definitely need to do this. And great to see non-business pursuits at the top of your list. Friends, health and reflection should come first.
Bethany Garvey - Thanks so much for this post Melissa. I don't know why, but your words tonight put butterflies in my stomach and made my heart pound! Probably because I'm in the middle of recognizing how reactionary I've become lately and how lost I've felt in the middle of it all. I'm so excited to realize that I CAN change much of that with just change of heart and an adjustment of my priorities again. Your words inspired me tonight and I'm thankful I was in the right place to actually hear them. Gonna work on my goal list ... tomorrow tho. Sleep is a new priority!
Danielle Daigle - Thanks Melissa for the post. It definitely hits home for me, as my life has gotten more chaotic and less productive lately. And thanks for all of your posts... I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and beautiful, inspiring images.
Jan - Melissa, You are always saying the things I'm saying or thinking - but you express it so much better! :) I do wish I lived near you, I think we'd get along so well!
One comment on your green smoothie. If you have a vitamix you may want to try other greens (like kale) occasionally as spinach blocks any calcium absorption that your oj is adding.
Tira J - Oh Melissa! Thank you for this post, and all your tweets the past two weeks. As I mentioned, I feel like you have been writing these just for me. I know that's not true, but you have certainly struck something in me to get my goals written down, and to really think about what God is doing in my life. Thank you so much for being you!!!!!
Lisa Mathewson - Thanks for this post, much food for thought. I need to do more of this!
Jill Fleming - Wow! So true and so timely for me - I feel like my day is mostly reactionary and then when I get back to goal work something else comes along and puts me back into reactionary mode!
I really appreciate that you mentioned that you'd don't have a business plan. I don't either - going full time with photography was a total leap of faith and I agree with you when you say that God will reveal what's next! I just wish he'd hurry up!! ;0)
Gail - The process of discovering what is important has always been for me a combination of writing down my goals and just taking the next step God reveals to me as I seek Him.
OH MELISSA......you wrote a sentence that had me nodding my head and saying "Uh huh, uh HUH" out loud. Way to hit it on the mark with those words. And this whole post, really.
R. J. Kern - Wonderful thoughts... gosh, you speak for soooo many. This would be a stellar topic for your first book. Yet another thing you might want to add to your list of goals. Your writing has always been stellar, but I am seeing a much more polished, saavy, sophisticated Melissa Jill in the last few months (old homes do that to you!). Big hugs and thank you for making it a priority to share and give give give on a daily basis. It means a lot to me.
