Sarah's mom - Hi, Melissa: I was looking at the beautiful shots of Sarah and Ryan's wedding AGAIN (sniff, sniff) My Baby! All the shots are incredible. melissa jill :) - Hi Tim- I know, I was a little crazy self-motivated in high school and college. I did do AWANA when I was younger but didn't retain a lot of that. Starting in high school I did a system where I would memorize a verse and then say it every day for 30 days. Then I would review it once a month every month. So basically every night I would say a list of like 20-25 verses that I memorized in the last month and then review like 50 verses from the list of 1200. I divided up the list of 1200 into 30 sections and reviewed one of the sections each day. It was pretty manageable until I got up to that number and then it was a little crazy. I stopped a few years ago because I felt like God wanted me to become less dependent of my self-discipline and learn about his grace. I just hit a wall and pretty much couldn't do it anymore. But the whole time I was doing it I really loved it. It was such an amazing foundation of truth that I meditated on every day. And I still have a lot of those verses memorized.

Tim Halberg - wow... ok... seriously, the 1200 memorized verses is AMAZING!!!! I need to memorize more! Was that in Awana? what did you do to train to memorize that much??
