Melissa Jill :) - Hi Stephen, In the case of processionals I don’t recompose. I just keep the focus point in the center and in this case, I put it on David’s tux — on the point where the black of his jacket and white of his tux met. If you put the focus point on someone’s torso, it generally is right about the same plane as their eye.
Stephen Elliott - Hi Melissa, I have a question about how exactly you focus on a moving target at f1.2 ?! :-) You said you held down the back button for continual focus with the camera on Al Servo mode. Now I expect you focus and re-compose for good composition. How does that effect the focus points initially, and as you track something small like an eye or certainly a face? Many thanks, Steve.
Kate Williams - LOVE these! Great light!
Melissa Jill :) - hey guys-- no, I didn't use flash at all during the ceremony. The church was pretty well lit. I shot wide open on 1.2 when shooting with the 50mm and 2.8 with the 70-200 and 16-35. I think my ISO was around 1000. Hope that helps!
