Yada Guerrero - Hi Melissa, thanks so much for sharing this information. I just found your blog and I hope to be in one of your workshops very soon!!! All the best ;)
MattDJ - And you don't charge admission for stuff like this?! Love Cat I tell ya! :-)
Peter Davis - Thanks for this post! I've always kept away from albums as a personal rule because I felt it was too daunting of a task. I've always just wanted to focus on the shoot, get the clients their pictures and move on to the next one. But your ideas and designs are making me a little more comfortable with jumping into it. I appreciate it!
brett maxwell - Would you be willing to share that form you use for album changes? I wouldn't copy it exactly, but I would love some ideas to smooth the process for myself and my clients.
Oleksandr Photography - This is exactly how I design my albums. I want to show them my vision for their album, since they hire me for my images and album design.
Yuka photo art - Thank you soo much for this post! I work in a same way with my clients and I think it will be helpful information for a lot of new photographers!
Cameron Clark | C+K Studio - Hi Melissa. We use a program called ProjectWorkroom, google it, it's made by Amy Wright from Theory. You can customize it to suit your logo colors, etc. It's a web interface that allows clients to make comments directly UNDER the page spreads and then keeps them and you can make comments as well. All comments are saved by name, which allows them to see comments you might make on the front end of the design, etc. I, too design albums then allow 3 drafts and then a final copy. It worked wonders for my turnaround on album designs. I used to wait FOREVER. It's hard for clients to be a photo editor and I think they are paying us for this expertise.
Arielle Haze - Brilliant! I've always wondered about this myself. I'm still waiting on brides (for over a year now) to pick. I was hoping to outsource the design, but I think I'm just going to work on this this weekend!
