the only thing I would suggest, which i think I did a long time ago, is to change to Permalinks instead of your current method of: index.cdm?postID=220.
What does this do? Instead of the above postID stuff, for this post you'd see a URL like:
melissajill.net/2008/01/by_popular_demand
This really helps you in search engine rankings to have the name of your blog post in the URL as well.
Not sure what software you use to be able to do it, but whoever helped you set it up, maybe ask them :)
