Jan Fosse - I just read this entry on your blog. You don't know me, but we walked a similar path for a while. My dad had a ruptured aneurysm 16 years ago today when I was 17 - we had 8 and a half years with him after that before he passed away, but you were very lucky - my dad never got well enough to come home. This may sound strange, but if you can, please give your dad a hug the next time you see him, for somebody who doesn't have that luxury anymore. I hope you have many more happy birthdays with your dad!!! :)
michelle meyer - Aww, that was so cool. We're the same age, so I'm totally with you on the hair. Only, my hair was naturally curly, not permed, so I've been stuck with it forever!
Sarah S - Those were grreat Mel! Righteous hair! Love ya!
Jennifer Bowen - Great post Melissa - very touching. I'm sure you cherish every single day with him. What a miracle!
It was kind of fun to re-live all the hair moments with you too. Since we are roughly the same age, we've shared similar hair cuts through the years, including the bigger bangs and bowl cuts :-)
Deyl - I was totally touched by your photos and story. Happy Bonus Bday to your dad!! Dads are the best!
Jerry Moores - Melissa - you honor yourself by honoring your father the way you do! You are both very blessed to have this mutual bond - always hold fast to it! NO ONE will ever love you like your Father does!!!! (Spoken from a father's heart) I love the pictures and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and I pray you run this series with a new picture for another 40 years!

I was so freaked out. But he's still kicking to this day. It's amazing how God blesses us everyday, sometimes with us not even knowing it. Happy Birthday to your dad and me!
