Brooke - I know how important it is, but it is SO scary to share them! ;)
Nick Gillespie - Very inspiring! It definitely helps me to write things down I want to accomplish, personally and for the business. That way I can look at it every now and then and remind myself in hard times what it is all about. Thanks for sharing.
Suzanne - Just put my goals up on the blog! Excited to track my progress and love reading about your goals!!
Gail - I've got a goals post all ready to go (just need to hit publish) that reads SO much like this! I must say, in the goal setting department, you are definitely my biggest inspiration! As a mentoree, thank you for always reminding me of the importance of this. As a friend, well, I'm ridiculously proud of you :)
Cameron Clark - I can help you with the Flagstaff goal! It will be fun to see you this summer, then! I'll take you on a hike. I heard from someone to take out some butcher paper and write your big goals for the next 1-5 years on it... in Sharpie, then fill in how to achieve them. I thought that sounded visual and fun.
Regis - Good stuff Melissa!
Stacey Poterson - I love everything you said in this post! I love your second personal goal that you listed, that's a big one on my list too. And #3 on your tips list is great advise-surrendering them wholeheartedly! Love it!
Jessica - I absolutely agree. I think it is so important to think about those things you want to accomplish in your life and write down the goals it will take to get there. For me it helps me keep track of my progress, know what needs to be done next, and even reward myself for accomplishing the things I've checked off. With how busy life can be, it's helpful to have these goals written down to be a constant reminder to yourself of what you want to achieve. I love your tip #3... I find myself writing down all of these things with the focus being on me making them happen. It's important to remember to hand those things over to God and let him lead you in the path he has laid out for you. You're so right when you say sometimes he might have a different plan for you and present even better options than you could ever imagine possible. Thank you so much for sharing this post with us! I always love reading people's personal goals and watch them prosper! See you in a couple weeks in Arizona! :)
Marco - Well done Melissa! Goals must be S.M.A.R.T.: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-bound. You have got it all covered. :-)
Tina - Why is it so scary to write down goals? I struggle with that - I definitely need to get on top of this now that January is about to come to a close - must set aside a day for goal planning!
Connor - Thanks Melissa! Definately going to try writing my goals down...
