Lori Calhoun - Love, love, love your blog! It is truly one of my favorites! I'm so glad you did this post. Since I got an iPhone for my birthday a few months ago I use it ALL the time for (slice of life) pictures. Sometimes I start to feel guilty because I have a VERY expensive camera, with expensive lenses right up stairs. This was validation for me, it's not about what camera I use so long as I got it (wink).
Gail - MJ, this post comes at a perfect time. I was lamenting how few photos I took with my 5D during my recent Cali trip until I started looking through my phone and realized, I captured a lot that way too! It's so true -- and SO fun to look back through. Every time I scroll back far enough on my phone to see my Europe photos, I just sigh in happiness. Life is good!
Melli - I love seeing those slices of your life. Love seeing that you have a great relationship with your grandpa. I am lucky enough to have gotten to know both grandfathers (and even one of my great-grandfathers). I was very close to my maternal grandpa (Opili, as I called him), who passed away 3 years ago at 86. One of the most memorable quotes I have from him was from when I still lived in the States and visited for the summer. I hugged him just because that summer afternoon and he asked - who'se going to hug me when you are gone. *sigh*
RJ Kern - All aboard the train of life! I love that metaphor, Melissa. So, so true. What nice surprise of the photo with Jared... kinda reminds you that you 'made it.' Enjoy the ride and see you at PartnerCon!
