Meet Ernie the Elliptical - my new work out partner.
I found Ernie on eBay. He is a Precor EFX 5.23 and was a great deal. He travelled across the country and now resides in my "ugly room." This room has not yet been featured on my blog. For good reason. You know the episode of FRIENDS where Chandler finds Monica's secret closet where she puts everything that doesn't have a place? This is my equivalent. The ugly room is the third bedroom of my house and it mostly stores all of the ugly office stuff that I have to have but don't want in my pretty front office room where I meet with clients. It's really a large closet of sorts. I keep my photo equipment, filing and office supplies in here. You can see that I also have a charging station where I charge all my batteries and equipment before shoots. And now the ugly room is Ernie's new home. He fits right into the style and decor of the room - don't you think? :) You can't see it in the above photo, but I also have a flat screen TV mounted in the corner and attached to a Tivo - something that will keep me entertained as I sweat. Profusely.
Getting Ernie the Elliptical allows me to check off goal #76 from my 101 in 1001 list - Get an elliptical machine for working out at home during the summers. For the last 7 months, I've been running outside with Dixie but now that the temperatures are in the 90s and heading into the 100s soon, I'm thinking that moving my workouts inside for the torturous Arizona summer months would be wise. During previous summers, I've always gone to a gym but I haven't found a gym in close vicinity to my new house that has a monthly membership fee that I like. I know there are a lot of people who buy home fitness equipment that ends up just gathering dust but I WILL NOT BE ONE OF THEM. I'm determined. Ernie and I have regular dates scheduled 4-5 days per week this summer.
