I haven't seen all that New York City has to offer but I'm convinced that even if I did, my favorite thing would still be Central Park. Calling it a park just doesn't seem to do it justice. It's an oasis of calm in the midst of the hurry of the city. You walk like 30 feet into it and you don't hear the traffic. People are taking leisurely boat rides or jumping rope or lounging on the grass with a good book. And the trees and pathways are gorgeous.

I'm not sure how I decided to put goal #24 - Take a carriage ride in Central Park - on my 101 in 1001 list. Maybe I saw it on a movie at some point and thought it looked fun? I do know that being the practical girl I am, I wouldn't typically splurge on something like a carriage ride. I would watch others enviously as their carriage trotted by but then convince myself that the money would be better spent elsewhere.

So good thing I put this one on my list! I was compelled to do it AND to enjoy it. Which! I did.

Our Irish guide gave us a fine tour and my only complaint is that it was over far too quickly.

In addition to the carriage ride, I was able to spend a few hours in the park. I didn't take many photos, but here are two I love:
Ah, glorious trees:
I'm feeling really blessed on this road trip to get to see so many amazing places and do so many fun things! Stay tuned for more to come!
