Yesterday didn't quite go as planned. But it all worked out in the end.

Brandon proposed to Ali at an apple orchard in Connecticut. We were going to meet up at that orchard to do their engagement shoot yesterday. But Ali called me on our drive down from Manchester and told me the orchard was closed for the day due to rain. Yep. Sounds about right - I was driving 70mph through a downpour with 20 feet visibility.

So we met up in Mystic, Connecticut instead. Thanks to my former workshop attendee Anna Sawin, a resident of Mystic, we found this cute cider mill to meet at to start our shoot. It wasn't an orchard but there WERE apples. And Fall colors. And a general atmosphere of coziness.

Brandon and Ali are super-cute and I had a great time getting to know them during the shoot!
Ali is so gorgeous!
The session turned out great because we got to shoot in such a variety of locations - like this dock on Mystic's seaport:
We also drove down the road to Stonington and spent some time near the ocean. I LOVE the blue sky - a remnant of the storm that passed - in the background:
Thanks to the sun for making an appearance!
