google reader

Most of you already use Google Reader or something like it, but it might surprise you to know that just this weekend I started using Google Reader to keep up on the blogs I like to follow. Previously I have just been checking each blog I like on my favorites list once in awhile to see if they're updated. But Google Reader is SO COOL! If anyone is stuck back in the stone-ages like I was, you need to check into it. In the above screen capture you can see what mine looks like. All you do is set up a free Google account and then add subscriptions to your Google Reader by pasting the URL into the subscription field. Then on the left hand side of your Google Reader you can see a list of all the blogs you subscribe to and whenever one is updated you can click on that blog entry and be taken to the post. It saves tons of time because you can just go to one place to catch up on all your blogs instead of looking at each one individually. I know most of you are already pros at this but I just thought I'd share in case there are others out there who are as behind as me :). And I'm teaching a seminar on blogging coming up so I should be the one who's on top of all this stuff! Shh--don't tell anyone...
