39. Tape record my grandma telling stories

My grandma is a great story-teller. I've grown up asking her to tell me stories about my dad when he was young and what life was like in the good ol' days. She tells some of the funniest stories and always has me on the edge of my seat with the way she tells them. I've always told her that she should write all her stories down. But I think the telling of them out loud is an art in itself. So when I was making my 101 in 1001 list I knew I needed to get some of her stories recorded on tape. Since then, I've decided that even better than tape recording them is video taping them. So that's what I've worked on for the past day or so. I bought myself a little camcorder and sat her and my grandpa down and interviewed them. I can tell that my grandma is a little uncomfortable being taped, as most of us are, because she isn't quite as spunky as usual, but I'm so glad that I will always have these memories.

Here is a portion of my interview with them. The first clip is both my grandparents talking about their wedding--more specifically a funny event that happened on the night before their wedding. And in the second clip my grandma tells a funny story about my dad when he was very little. Enjoy!
