I think I've received a record number of Christmas cards this year. The pile is taking over my office desk. I've audibly squealed with delight at the site of some of them -- unexpected cards from past clients, unbelievably creative cards from other photographers and coordinators, and cards from friends who have burrowed their way into the depths of my heart but have been physically distant from it for far too long. I've loved them all and have thoroughly enjoyed the warm fuzzies they have supplied.

My favorite FAVORITE type of cards are of two varieties and I just can't decide which I love better. One is the card with the hand-written note. Seriously. Who has time to do that anymore? When I read something personal directed only to me I feel the love. I know how busy this time of year is for everyone. So if someone takes the time to write me a note I KNOW I'm up there on their special list.

My other favorite card solicits a different but equally fun feeling in me. It's actually a bit startling to receive a Christmas card in the mail with a photo I'VE TAKEN on it. It's kind of like that feeling you get when you run into someone you know but in a place that you don't associate with them. You instantly recognize them but you're still a bit startled because you didn't expect to see them there. After this initial feeling I'm just overcome with warm fuzzies because really cool people have chosen photos I've taken to represent them to everyone they love during Christmas. And not only THAT but they've been thoughtful enough to include me in their list of "people worthy of receiving our card." So with this combo I pretty much melt into a pile of goo. Gooey Joy.

So far this year I've received 6 cards with photos I've taken on them. THANK YOU ALL for thinking of me! I'm just in love with them all! I can't believe how creative and beautiful they turned out.
