Over the years I've been blessed to be able to travel to some really great destinations to shoot weddings. I thought it would be fun to do a post to relive some of the fabulous weddings I've had the pleasure of shooting in various areas of the country. Some of these couples had destination weddings and some of them just flew me out to where they lived and were holding the festivities. I love that brides and grooms have so many options these days when planning the most important day of their lives. They can stay near home or hold a destination wedding. They can hire a photographer in town or pay an extra travel fee to have any photographer they like flown to the site of their wedding to document their day. Anything goes! So if you're a bride--dream big!

I know you're traditionally supposed to start top 10 lists with #10, but I'm going to be wild and crazy and start with my top faves first.

#1 -- Half Moon Bay, CA -- Brent & Michelle's wedding

This little bay south of San Francisco has a small-town beach feel. When we were there at least, it felt like we were the only ones in town. It was so quaint and private. Plus it is a photographer's dream. The ceremony was held in a beautiful garden, we shot on the beach and also in a nearby field. Everywhere you turned there was another beautiful and unique setting in which to shoot.
#2 -- Kauai -- Andy & Jonna's Wedding

If you dream of a beach wedding--Hawaii can't be beat! I'm SO excited because I get to go back to Kauai in June to shoot another fabulous wedding. I can't wait!!!
#3 -- Portland, OR -- Daren & Sarah's Wedding

I've shot 2 weddings in Portland now and it's my absolute favorite city location. Downtown Portland is ripe with artsy culture and its architecture is full of color and character. I also love that it's so pedestrian-friendly. I love living in Phoenix, but if I HAD TO move, Portland would be at the top of my list.
#4 -- North Carolina

I've had the opportunity to shoot 3 weddings in North Carolina (pre-blog days) and I love the history and southern-charm it holds. The east coast is so different from the west and there's just something about it that makes me want to keep coming back for more.
#5 -- San Diego -- Michael & Kindra's Wedding

I've also shot 3 weddings in San Diego--the most recent of which was just 2 weeks ago. Love this city too. It reminds me a little of Portland. I love walking around the downtown area and Coronado island is stinkin' charming! Great restaurants, great views, great weather--it's hard to beat!
#6 -- South Carolina -- Clay & Rhonda's Wedding

South Carolina is up here for many of the same reasons as its northern counterpart. It's beautiful. And I love the accents!
#7 -- San Francisco -- Taylor & Lisa's Wedding

San Francisco is another of my favorite downtown locations. It's chalk full of character and culture. It's so full of energy, interesting people and great architecture at every turn.
#8 -- Sedona, Arizona -- Chris & Vanessa's Wedding and Ryan & Sarah's Wedding

I've shot 4 weddings in Sedona. And though it's a destination that is a little closer to home for me, I absolutely adore it. It's a one-of-a-kind place with it's red-rock mountains, trickling streams and get-away-from-it-all feel.

#9 -- Palm Springs, CA -- Rob & Val's Wedding

I've only been to Palm Springs for one wedding but The Parker is one of the most unique, fun venues I've shot at to date. You have to check out the photos from this wedding to see for yourself.
#10 -- Arkansas -- Daniel & Jessica's Wedding

Last, but certainly not least (there's a few destinations that didn't even make the list!) is Arkansas. I loved the wedding I shot in Arkansas because of it's intimate country-feel. And again -- the accents :).
What a fun walk down memory lane this post was for me! It you're a bride--I hope it inspires you to dream big and make your wedding uniquely you!!
