This week's FAQ is about calibrating monitors. Monitor calibration is important so that when you are editing on your computer, you can be assured that what you see on the screen will match what is printed by your lab. I'm definitely not the guru of monitor calibration, but I did check with both of my labs--Pictage and WHCC--and found out that they both recommend the same monitor calibrator-- the Xrite Eye-One Display 2. It's super-easy to use and only takes about 10 mintues.
As to how often to calibrate, I didn't know the answer to this one so had to look it up. I was surprised to find out I should be calibrating about once a month! Guess I should get on that since it's been awhile :).
Like I said, I'm not the expert on monitor calibration so feel free to weigh in on the discussion below if you have something to add!
