Another awesome family portrait shoot coming at you right now! These are the Tartaglias. Brooke and Joey were in my high school youth group with me years ago and are my age. But they wasted NO TIME getting married super-young and starting on their family. Their children are (from L to R)--Shiloh (12), Marietta (11) and Solomon (9):
I can't believe how amazing these kids are--some of the best behaved children I have ever encountered. Brooke and Joey have done a great job. For the past 8 years, this family has been missionaries in Papua New Guinea among the Mibu tribe--a formerly unreached people group. They went in and built their home among them, befriended them, learned the language, developed an alphabet for them, taught them to read and write, translated portions of the Bible and taught them the Bible chronologically from Genesis through the Gospels. The entire tribe has, in the process, come to believe in Christ for their salvation. It's pretty unbelievable what they've invested their life work in. Right now they're home for one year, networking with people here and training others to go. They are planning to head back to the Mibu people soon though.
One of the main purposes for this shoot was to get them an updated family portrait for their prayer card so that people who support them financially and through prayer could have it up on their refrigerators as a reminder. So, many of the shots I took were composed with room to one side where they can put some text and information. Here are a few more of my favorites:
