First of all--thank you SO much to everyone for the sweet birthday wishes today. I have been thinking that my friends are seeming EXTRA sweet and thoughtful this year -- I've gotten more emails, voicemails, blog comments and texts than usual and it's only #3-2 (not the most exciting)-- but then I realized that Facebook is TELLING all 492 of my friends that it is, in fact, my birthday today. So I do appreciate Facebook for being so awesome that way but I also appreciate all of you for putting in the extra effort to DO something with the information :).

In honor of my birthday, I thought I would give myself a little present that I've been wanting for awhile. I paid a finish carpenter to come in and frame out the interior of my windows! All 19 of them in my house including my cool window seat (which I will have to post a picture of later because it's still looking pretty rough).

My friend Jessica, who is also my new roomie, gave me one of the best birthday presents anyone could ever give a girl who hates to paint and has been helping me paint the trim. She's awesome and is so calm with the whole thing.
Dixie and I, on the other hand, are a bundle of stress. I know light construction work and painting aren't the most stressful of experiences but they go in the same category with moving and packing for me--all activities that involve total chaos and disorder and sometimes a layer of dust. I just can't wait until it's all over and everything can be in place and clean again. Which I'm hoping is Saturday for me.

Poor Dix--she doesn't know what to do with herself. Her little body jumps every time the nail gun fires and she can't run up and down the stairs like normal cause there's a big scary ladder in the way. And everything smells funny. She's a bit out of sorts:
All the pain and suffering is worth it though because I am IN LOVE with how they're turning out:
Yay! Thanks again Jess for being such an awesome friend. And thanks to everyone for all the sweet birthday wishes!
