Today I made it back to Ireland--this time the west side of the island where the workshop starts on Monday. I'm SO excited! We are in a beautiful rented home in a little town right on the water. The houses don't even have numbers. The addresses begin with the surnames of the people who own them and then just have the street and city. Crazy. It's SO ultra-green and much cooler here. Italy was great but if I ever go again it's definitely not going to be in the summer.

So I'm glad I'm here but unfortunately my luggage only made it as far as Paris :(. Boo. I know this kind of thing happens regularly in Europe but still not fun. I think I mentioned a few posts back how torturous packing for this trip was. I needed 2 1/2 weeks worth of clothes for two totally different climates, all my camera gear, computer, lighting equipment and workshop workbooks. What I ended up doing was packing two small suitcases with my clothing and toiletries--one for the first portion in France and Italy and one for Ireland that also included the workbooks. When I flew into the Shannon airport on the 6th I put one of the small suitcases, my big camera bag and lighting bag all in storage so that I only had one small suitcase and my purse for the France/Italy leg. It worked out splendidly that way. So today, even though I lost one suitcase, I gained three more. I have clean laundry and my camera but no toiletries or computer. I'm told I'll receive my other suitcase tomorrow.

We tried to find a market so I could buy a toothbrush but everything closes stinkin' early in Ireland so no bueno. Oh well. I guess I'll survive one night with bad breath. Good thing you can't smell through a computer :).
