35. Babysit for the Swansons
I've been bugging my friends Scott & Julie to let me babysit these three cuties for a YEAR AND A HALF now. What does a girl have to do? I started feeling like maybe they didn't trust that I could single-handedly keep them all alive for one evening. To tell you the truth, I wasn't sure I could either when I first decided to put this little task on my 101 in 1001 list in February of 07. These three are as cute as can be but back then, they scared me a little. I don't know how my friend Julie does it day in and day out--they're a handful.
Originally, while putting together my list of goals, I tried to think of all the people I love and what kind of goals I could come up with to bless them. I hang out with Scott and Julie and their kids all the time but had never offered to babysit. As mentioned above, I was a little intimidated. So I decided it would be a good challenge. Well, since then the boys have grown quite a bit and gotten less scary. And now I laugh at my old self mockingly.
Turns out this was the easiest babysitting job I've ever had. The boys wanted to watch Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones so that's what we did. They were pretty much transfixed to the TV the whole time:

With the occasional break to play with star wars toys:
We ate cookies, brushed our teeth and went to bed without incidence. I've never seen them be such angels.
It's times like these that make me think maybe I could do the kid thing. But the other times still exist when I feel totally inadequate and overwhelmed. Thankfully there's no need to decide at this juncture :).
