Tonight I met Marie and her three boys for portraits at a local park. Marie planned the shoot as a surprise gift for her husband for Father's day which I thought was sweet. Marie is a very brave woman. A photo shoot with three boys at these ages--Dominic (8), Andrew (5), Simon (16 mo.)--has got to be one of the most daring feats known to mankind. Simon was 100% anti-sitting, Dominic just wanted to be done and "go on the rides" and Andrew had so much energy coming out of every limb that he seemed on the verge of explosion. By the end of the shoot poor Marie looked like she needed a vacation, a long bath and some aspirin. I know I did :).

Despite the fact that this shoot was not the most soothing, relaxed shoot I've ever done, we got some great shots. I think the top one is my favorite of all three boys.

I convinced Marie to jump in one. I thought this captured them well:
If only Andrew would have been smiling instead of shouting we would have achieved perfection. I still like it though.

I shot a bunch of all the boys individually and much of the shoot was spent chasing them around. The only one I could really keep up with was Simon--so I ended up getting some super-cute ones of him:
I love this expression of pure joy as he saw Andrew coming down the slide:
These boys gave me a run for my money. Literally. But the challenge is what makes life interesting and the results so much sweeter...
