I love a good blog. Blogs are one of the greatest things since Tivo and GPS navigators. Or did blogs come first? I don't know. Regardless. Blogs are like reality TV--a window into someone's life. Or at least what they want to show you of it :). I love when blogs show you the personality of their writer. And I love to be inspired by other photographer's work through their blogs.
I am a fan of google reader and have over 60 blogs listed on mine that I follow (to some extent). But I wanted to give a quick shout out to a few of my faves. These are all photographer's blogs (I do follow a number of non-photography blogs). And they are all blogs that are super-fun to read and follow. I don't know any of these people super-well; none of them live in my area; but I feel like we're good friends because of our blog-lationship. Yes. I just invented a new word. Does anyone out there want to have a blog-lationship with me? :)
So let me introduce you to my blog-ends, blog-als and blog-uddies. Nope none of those work. I'll have to keep working on that one.

1. Maile Wilson with Relish Photography
Maile is based out of somewhere in Texas and is HILARIOUS. I often laugh out loud while reading her posts. One time, years ago, she commented on my blog and then I started reading hers and I was hooked instantly. She doesn't shoot weddings but she does AMAZING portraits. I love her eye, her personality, her post-processing. Yes, I have a blog-crush on her. But I try to stick to reading her blog within the google reader window because that cupcake makes me want to eat sweets.

2. Matt Nicolosi
Matt is one of my recent blog finds. I found him through a link from Open Photo Contest and again, was instantly hooked. He, like Maile, is also from Texas, and also primarily a portrait shooter. Although I love his random street/travel/whatever stuff too. Matt is also hilarious and I love how open he is about his faith and his personal life on his blog. Very admirable. And next week Matt is meeting me in Omaha to shoot a wedding with me! How lucky am I? Should be fun. The down-side to Matt is that he does have a girlfriend. But I guess a harmless blog-crush never hurt anyone, right?

3. Mel & Sara from Whitebox Weddings
Mel and Sara are two fabulous girls who run a wedding-photo business together in North Carolina. They left a comment on my blog one day years ago and I began to stalk their blog. Then, when I was out in NC for a wedding, I asked them if they wanted to meet up for lunch. Then we decided to get together a couple months ago with a bunch of other photogirls for a beach house retreat and that's the history behind photogirls! These two are SO full of personality and so are their photos. I've gotten to know them the best out of these four and they are class-acts. Wish we lived closer so we could hang out all the time!

4. Misha Waite
I met Misha through said photogirls retreat in March and have been following her blog ever since. She is a wedding/portrait photographer up in the state of Washington and I love her eye. She doesn't write a ton in her posts but her photos are enough to hold me and give you a glimpse into who she is.

Definitely add these blogs to your google reader! Seriously good stuff.
