26. Update my wardrobe
So everyone has a friend who no matter what, is always the most put-together, stylish person in the room. This is mine: the always-too-cute-for-words Jen. I'm indebted to her for helping me to cross off #26 from my 101 in 1001 list yesterday. This is a goal I put on my list over a year ago and have been working at ever since. I'm not a huge shopper. I go like 5 times a year. One of the main reasons I put this goal on my list is because I have generally been a jeans and T-shirt comfort girl most of my life. It's easy and doesn't take too much thought. But being in the wedding industry for 5 years now, I'm constantly surrounded by the uber-cute and stylish, and my wardrobe fell desperately short. As the seasons have changed over the last year I've been very intentional about my shopping and my clothing choices. So I was doing pretty good when Jen came over to assess my closet yesterday. She was SO kind and helpful and we headed out to the mall to see what we could come up with to raise the style-o-meter on my wardrobe. It ended up being a very successful day with the purchase of 3 new dresses, a half-dozen "tweener" shirts (shirts that can be both dressy and casual depending on what you wear them with) and some fun accessories. I now feel good about checking off this goal that has long been a work in progress.
Even though I've checked it off my list, I know a girl's work looking cute is never done :). If any of you out there are style experts -- call me up for your next trip to the mall. I still have a lot to learn!
