You may be thinking Christmas presents by the title of this post. But I am thinking along the lines of knowledge.

Anyone read this book?
It's awesome. I read it a few years ago and it's really formed a lot of my thinking about business. Tim Sanders talks about giving away your intangibles -- specifically your knowledge and network -- for FREE, and how doing this can ultimately end up blessing you and your business in the long run.

I wanted to give some blog love to my friend Liene Stevens of Blue Orchid Designs for being a true "lovecat."
Liene is an amazingly knowledgeable wedding consultant who is also a gifted blogger. Recently she started a string of posts called "30 days to plan a wedding." In each post she covers a different planning topic and gives away a wealth of information. Not only is she informative but she's a great writer who really lets her personality shine through so her posts are never dull. As a wedding planner, why would she give away all this information for free, one might ask. Because Liene has recognized that brides are not hiring her for her wealth of knowledge first and foremost. They are hiring her for her. They want HER to be there on their wedding day. She also realizes that giving away her knowledge can only serve to benefit her business and the industry as a whole in the long run.

Definitely check out the "30 days to plan a wedding" thread by clicking here. Such great stuff! Way to go Liene!

Let's all be inspired to give more!
