31. Organize my office closet

This project has been in the works for a number of months now and it feels SO GOOD to check it off the list!! I have to give full credit for this one to my new assistant Ashley. I gave her the vision when she first came on in October and she has taken it over and made it happen! Woo-hoo! If it were just me--trust me--my closet would still be a disaster.

I'm so mad at myself for not getting a "before" picture to show you how far it's come. But here is an "after" photo (photoshoped so that the mirrored closet doors aren't in it.)
Such a beautiful site!

I am known to be a pretty organized person but I've always had a few problem areas where I throw everything that doesn't have a place. Can anyone relate?

This project happened in three stages. For one thing--there was way too much stuff in the closet originally to make it truly "organized." So we had to move some things out of there. These file drawers were originally in the closet sideways so that the drawers opened within the closet--they took up a lot of room but they definitely need to be hidden because they're SO ugly. So we moved them into the storage closet in the entry way:
Then we got some garage storage to keep a lot of the stuff that we don't need to get to as often:
We hired an electrician to come install an extra outlet in the closet for charging batteries, etc. And then we got online on the containerstore.com and ordered some elfa system shelving for the office closet as well as a bunch of pretty containers and... viola!

In case you missed it the first time:
