I have had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented and personable vendors in the wedding industry. I love to refer my clients to professionals I have worked with who I truly believe will do an amazing job for them. While I love to share my Favorite Vendors List, I also like to occasionally spotlight each of them more in depth.
Today, meet Taryn of Serendipity Cinematography! Taryn is such a talented videographer, and she creates amazing and unique wedding videos. I love the way videography and photography can complement one another, and I'm always so thrilled when my clients hire a videographer as fantastic as Serendipity Cinematography!
I usually like to share images of a vendor's work when I spotlight them on the blog, but it's difficult to convey what Taryn does in a still photograph. So here is an example of the wedding videos she and her team create for their clients:
Beautiful, right?! I love watching the videos that Taryn and her team create! Here is a little Q & A to help us get to know Taryn a little better. Read her answers below each question:
1. How long have you been in the wedding industry?
I've been in business for 13 years now. Whoa, just saying that is crazy. The time has flown!
2. What got you interested in being a videographer at weddings?
The word "serendipity" means to find something great by accident and that's exactly how Serendipity Cinematography came about. Thirteen years ago my best friend called to say she was engaged. She knew I had a background in video, so she asked me to film her wedding. It was an incredible experience, and I had a name, a website designed and a business plan ready to go right after the wedding was finished. And with that, I was off and running!
3. Understandably, if a bride and groom were making a choice between hiring a videographer and having a friend video tape it, you would recommend the videography route. If you could give them only one reason to do so, what would it be?
When you work with a professional videographer, we give you a professional experience. We have high quality gear, dedication and work ethic, and the skill and training to craft a memorable film of your wedding day. A friend might have some of those things ... but maybe not. Is your wedding day really the occasion to find out? Not to mention, a friend is under no obligation to deliver by a certain time or to provide the service & experience we do.
4. What is your favorite thing about working weddings?
My favorite thing about working weddings is seeing each couple's love and happiness, and the celebratory nature of the day. It's such a blessing to get to document so much joy!
5. What would you say makes you different than other videographers out there?
Our level of experience, the customized story of your wedding day that we offer, our level of service ... I really don't think anyone else matches us on those things. We provide what I think of as a "Nordstrom experience."
6. What type of clients do you typically find yourself working with?
We find ourselves working with couples who value having a custom story of their wedding day. They are drawn to the stories we tell and therefore their story is always awesome.
7. What is your favorite part of the wedding day?
My favorite part of the wedding day is by far the first look. It is such an intimate and tender moment. To see a couple look at each other for the first time that day is just such an incredible moment. That one moment says so much about a couple and to be there to document that is a true gift.
8. Any fun-facts that we should really know that would contribute even more to your coolness?
I have a super rad Persian cat named Ruby!
