49. Go skiing again
This weekend I decided last-minute to head up to Flagstaff with my friends Ryan and Sarah to go skiing at Snowbowl on their opening weekend. I started skiing at age 3 in Minnesota but the last time I went was in 2000! I couldn't believe it had been that long when I saw an old lift ticket on my ski jacket. So I decided to make it a point to go again soon by putting it on my 101 in 1001 list. It worked out great because Sarah is a ski instructor on the weekends that Snowbowl is open during the winter and her dad lives up here so we all have a great place to crash. But lest you think this goal was a breeze to complete, I will have you know that I had to get up at the butt crack of dawn this morning (6:30) and head out into the sub-zero temperatures (-4 F when we left) to make it happen. Sarah is SERIOUS about her skiing. I realized throughout the day that skiing is great and all, but it is a whole lot of hassle and a fair amount of pain for a moderate amount of fun. I know many of you will probably disagree with that statement but that's where we're just going to have to realize we can't understand one another. Regardless, I still enjoy going skiing and find it worth the hassle once in awhile. I was brave and brought my 5D up on the slopes to capture the fun times. Sarah was busy teaching lessons much of the day so Ryan and I hung out in the morning. Here he is before the first run of the day:

It was so beautiful up here with the fresh snowfall in the trees:

Ryan did a great job getting a shot of me and Sarah with some flare:
So fun! I'm so glad I came! And I'm definitely more open to Christmas now that I've been up in the snow and seen some icicles :).
