When Aaron & Alexa met, it was friendship-at-first sight! They were each dating someone else at the time, but they "clicked" instantly and became not only buddies, but true friends. They supported one another through break ups, new jobs, a very long-distance move ... they were there for one another long before their friendship became a romance and deepened into love.
Aaron told me an amazing story about when he first realized how special Alexa was. He said, "Really early on in our friendship, we were hiking with friends and ended up hiking ahead of the rest of the group. We had a deep conversation about life and relationships -- she was actually giving me relationship advice. There was something about Alexa; she was so charismatic, sweet yet sassy, and level-headed. Even though I wasn't thinking about her romantically at that time, I was encouraged by the thought that there were possibly more women out there like her. To me, that is really when I knew she was The One and I would be looking for someone like her for the rest of my life."
How lovely is that sentiment?! When I joined Aaron & Alexa for their engagement portraits, I saw that deep connection shining between them again and again (and did my best to document it for them to see). Here are some of my favorite images from that shoot:
