When you think about Phoenix, you probably picture the desert, full of amazing saguaro cacti and shimmering with heat. I don't blame you -- the desert is a beautiful and important part of our landscape! I even shared a blog post about Phoenix venues that make the most of our unique desert beauty! But there is more to Phoenix than prickly pears, so if you're considering a Phoenix wedding, I want to open your eyes to some other possibilities. I put together a list of five venues that I adore where you can have a lush, green, garden wedding even in the heart of the Valley of the Sun! I've shot at all of these venues, so I know firsthand how wonderful they are.

The Arizona Biltmore -- Phoenix, AZ

If you are looking for a venue with beauty, history AND luxury, you should definitely check out The Arizona Biltmore. Frank Lloyd Wright was the consulting architect for the building of this historic resort in 1928, which was known as the "Jewel of the Desert." His influence is reflected in the iconic stain glass at the entrance and in the geometric pattern of the famous Biltmore Block that makes up so much of the resort's exterior. The Arizona Biltmore is completely unique and completely gorgeous! Click here to see more of one of my favorite shoots at The Arizona Biltmore.
The Royal Palms Resort & Spa -- Phoenix, AZ

Royal Palms has been a getaway since 1929, and all these years later it's still the height of comfort and beauty! Royal Palms offers oodles of romantic backdrops -- from towering palms, lush gardens, hidden nooks and regal, Spanish Colonial architecture. All of this makes it a favorite venue for my entire team! El Chorro -- Paradise Valley, AZ

El Chorro is a little piece of history tucked right against Camelback Mountain, and I love it! El Chorro kind of has everything … expansive lawns for the ceremony, lush desert flora for portraits, and both indoor and outdoor venues for the reception. In fact, it has SO MUCH variety that I also included it on my post about desert venues in Phoenix! The best of both worlds, right? Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia -- Paradise Valley, AZ

"The Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia" is kind of a mouthful to say, which is why most locals just call it Montelucia. Montelucia is a dream venue! It has elegant architecture and delightful landscaping that make it feel like the perfect escape! Click here to see more photos from a stunning wedding I recently shot at Montelucia.
The Farm at South Mountain -- Phoenix, AZ

The Farm at South Mountain is one of my favorite locations for portrait shoots, and it's also an amazing wedding venue! With gardens, pecan groves, and rolling lawns, The Farm is an incredible change from the surrounding desert! Click here to see one of my favorite engagement shoots, which I shot at The Farm.
I hope I've opened your eyes to some of the possibilities for non-desert venues here in the Phoenix area! There are so many to choose from, but these are a few that I love!
