Frivolous: playful, lighthearted, trivial; the little things in life that should be savored.

Highlight of the week: My fridge is packed with leftovers as we speak. Which means I did A LOT of eating out this week. Looking back, I was able to hit so many of my favorite local spots -- North, Chelsea's Kitchen, The Vig -- and it is starting to be perfect weather for sitting outside. Spending time building relationships over yummy food is one of the great simple pleasures in life.

Yes, I did this:
1 -- Popped iron lozenges non-stop in an effort to stave off a full-blown cold.
2 -- Watched my parents' dog. Which served to make me appreciate Dixie all the more.
3 -- Purchased a new professional quality curling iron and promptly burned my thumb on it.

Celebrating: I am slightly more excited to do laundry because this week I had a refurbished vintage laundry room door installed! The original plain white pocket door had been off the track for months and after a good bit of work -- finding an old door on Craig's List, negotiating the price, driving 40 minutes to get the door, somehow stuffing it into the back of my Toyota Corolla, finding a carpenter, buying a vintage door knob on eBay, 2 days of painting, fitting, nailing, waxing (all by the carpenter thankfully) -- I now have a laundry room door I can close again!

One of the aforementioned dinners out was with this cute couple. They are getting married this fall in the Dominican Republic and the more I get to know them, the more I adore them. I don't always develop friendships with clients, but it's such an amazing bonus when I do!

Feeling Blessed: This week we started our first internship program! We have two interns who are working for both MJP and my other business -- Align Album Design -- this semester and I can't wait to introduce them to you next week!
