When Dara attended a week of discipleship training called Deep Camp, she was expecting to find fellowship, to learn from others, and to deepen her connection to God. She found all of those things ... and though she didn't know it at the time, she also met her future husband -- a fellow attendee named Charlie.
Although that week at camp didn't spark a romance between the two, it did forge a friendship that would grow steadily over the next four years. When Dara came out of a difficult relationship, Charlie was one of the people she was able to lean on, and he was there to help heal some of the parts of Dara's heart that she had feared would stay broken forever. Although he had been interested in Dara for years, he didn't think she would ever look his way. Finally, after much prayer and a few nudges from his friends and pastor, Charlie asked Dara out.
In case the above photo didn't tip you off, I'll give you a hint: Dara said yes. And just one year later, she said yes again when Charlie asked her to become his wife.
I was blessed to shoot Charlie and Dara's wedding in Denver, Colorado. Their love and strong faith shone through the whole day, and I feel so honored that I was able to be part it!
