Alexis & Murphy are getting married next fall in the Dominican Republic but the day Murphy realized he wanted to spend all of his days with Alexis was a day they spent in Sedona. They drove up from Phoenix one Sunday morning and hiked around and had lunch. On the way back they stopped by the Out of Africa zoo to watch the live feedings of the lions, hyaenas, bears, and tigers. At this point in the day Murphy recalls feeling hot, tired, sweaty and fairly stinky, but the strange thing is that he found himself not caring because he was completely consumed with the woman at his side. From that point on he knew.
These two are always up for an adventure. And thank goodness, because getting up to Merry-Go-Round Rock in Sedona is no small feat. We all piled into a rented 4-wheel-drive SUV and drove up the rockiest mountain road I've ever been on until we arrived at our destination 45 minutes and only 6.5 miles later. But it was SO worth it! If you're going to capture the beauty of Sedona -- the red rock and the stunning views -- this is the only way to do it!
