It was a classic meet-cute fit for the movie screen -- Ashley was hanging out with friends on New Year's Eve, expecting nothing more than a fun night and a toast at midnight. She certainly wasn't expecting Ben, the funny, handsome man who was also ringing in the New Year at the same event. There was a spark between them from the start, and when they kissed at midnight, they knew they were meant to be together!

Of course, life isn't a romantic comedy, and Ben & Ashley had a year and half of long-distance dating before they were finally able to be together in the same place. But the feeling of rightness and meant-to-be-ness that they first felt during their New Year's kiss stayed with them and only grew stronger as they fell more and more in love.

When Ben started hinting that he was going to propose in Washington on the Fourth of July, Ashley was excited ... and completely unsuspecting of a trip to San Diego earlier in the summer. So when Ben "found" a jar with a note in it on the beach, Ashley opened it with no expectations at all. The note inside said, "You are the love of my life, will you marry me?" Ashley turned to find Ben on bended knee in the sand.

Talk about silver screen romance!

I feel so blessed to be part of Ben & Ashley's love story. If this really WERE a movie, Ben & Ashley's wedding would have been the perfect, happy ending ... but luckily this is real life, and their story is only beginning!

Ben and Ashley were married in the backyard of their beautiful Phoenix home that Ben remodeled from the ground up. It was such a dream setting to shoot in! Enjoy some of my favorite photos from their wedding day:
