Frivolous: playful, lighthearted, trivial; the little things in life that should be savored.
Highlight of the week: I had the opportunity to speak to a group of about 50 photographers at our local AZPPA meeting. I spoke on Finding Great Shooting Locations and Staying Inspired. I always get so energized by speaking, teaching, and being able to interact with other professionals who are working hard to push their photography and businesses to the next level. If you weren't able to come but are interested in the content I shared, you can find my five tips here!
Yes, I did this:
1 -- Woke up next to this cutie, who is apparently convinced she is a person.
2 -- Found mystery meat in my fridge. I opened the fridge door one day this week and it smelled SO BAD that, although it wasn't immediately apparent, I had to figure out what the cause was. Turned out it was really old turkey in a baggy that neither Sara nor I can take credit for. The mystery remains, but thankfully the turkey is thrown out.
I love my church so much and am so thankful I've been able to be more consistent on Sundays with my lighter travel schedule recently. Right now the pastors are doing a series entitled "Cross Fit" and are talking about how we can love the Lord with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength -- focusing specifically on the body, mind & soul. Really good stuff!
Celebrating: I took this cute girl to lunch this week to celebrate her leap to full-time. Heidi is a super-talented graphic designer who I have worked with and been friends with for years and I couldn't be more thrilled for her! We randomly selected a Mexican restaurant for lunch only to find out when we got there that it was Cinco de Mayo. Apparently the two business men at the table next to us were in a festive mood because they sent tequila shots to our table. At 12:30 in the afternoon. The tension was magnified by the fact that they were literally sitting at the table RIGHT next to us and we had no interest in their shots. AWKWARD! But fun to celebrate my friend's big news nonetheless.
I had lunch with two of my associate photographers this week and was reminded once again of what a great team I have! As we're heading into the summer, which is a slower time for weddings in Arizona, we're taking a look at how we do things at MJP and brainstorming and visioning improvements for the future. I love these opportunities to take things to the next level and am so excited about the changes we have in store!
Feeling Blessed: Ahhh -- if you missed it on social media -- this blog comment blessed my socks off this week!
