Kim and I just got back from seeing Kauai via helicopter! This was my first helicopter ride and it was amazing! We flew so close to the edge of mountains and what felt like feet over the top of ridges and it was just like the nature shows you watch where you feel like you're flying but with more of a rush in the pit of your stomach and just a tinge of nausea :). It was definitely a highlight of the trip and an awe-inspiring way to see the beauty of this island.

We took the "ferari of helicopters":
Kim was pumped up:
Here's me modeling my hip life saver thing in case we crashed in the water
Our helicopter flying in from an earlier tour:
The nose of our ride:
Our captain: Floyd--he knew everything :).
He also kindly took photos. (Note: no doors on the helicopter)
Kim as we're about to take off:
Me and Floyd in flight:
And some sweet aerial shots:
Floyd took us in close to get a shot of this sea turtle basking on the beach:
The Nepali coast:
Hanalei Bay:
We saw what felt like hundreds of these skinny super-tall waterfalls all over the island:
A lot of the waterfalls look like this so I won't post ALL the shots I got.
Love this close-up:
Floyd landed us at a waterfall and we ate lunch there with these fine blokes from England who were also on our flight:
Then back in the air for more flying fun:
Gorgeous and amazing! As far as Kauai goes, I have now seen it all :).
