Frivolous: playful, lighthearted, trivial; the little things in life that should be savored.
Highlight of the week: Traveling to Napa for the first time and hanging out with this cute girl. Camille and I have been friends for years now and actually met through one of my Skype coaching sessions. She flew out from Virginia to 2nd shoot Clarke & Patty's wedding weekend with me. We were put up in luxury at Solage Calistoga in a private cottage complete with bikes free to borrow, and we had a little extra time to see the sites and experience Napa. I'm so thankful for Camille and her servant's heart. She was SUCH a blessing to me this weekend in countless ways and I loved reconnecting with her.
Yes, I did this:
1 -- Found 8 spiders in our hotel room. EIGHT. Big ones. With bubble bodies & hairy legs. None of them survived to tell of it.
2 -- Facetimed my dog.
3 -- Ate the best breakfast of my life. And ordered the exact same thing again two days later.
4 -- Bought two blankets and a hat that I didn't need from this cute boutique in downtown St. Helena.
I have never flown into San Fransisco without issues. This time, I had a flight cancelled and had to be re-routed through Oakland, and my return flight was delayed. We were 4 hours later than planned getting into Napa. Yet another reminder that, whenever you are traveling for destination weddings, it's wise to plan to get in the day BEFORE you have to start shooting. Just in case.
Celebrating: Clarke & Patty's wedding was my last of the season!! Woot woot! It's been a whirlwind month with three weddings, a workshop and a trip, and I'm thrilled to be at the finish line! Bring on the holidays!
I'm a bit of a scrooge when it comes to Halloween. We could cancel it altogether and I wouldn't even flinch. But this year I celebrated by watching Hocus Pocus for the 1st time (that's as scary as I'm willing to go) and handing out/consuming candy with neighbor friends next to this coziness.
Feeling Blessed: There are so many things I love about traveling, but one of the best is getting to come home to this cuteness. First thing I did when I got home was give her a bath in the kitchen sink so I could snuggle her to my heart's content.
