It was 1997 when they met for the first time on the middle school soccer field. Jess was smitten, and though it may not have been as obvious to Jay at the time... the fact that he got down on his knee to tie Jess's shoes before every practice, while Jess talked and giggled like middle school girls do, was pretty accurate foreshadowing.

After a middle school break up, a high school rekindle-and-fizzle, Jay and Jess got back together one more time as adults and for this gorgeous couple, the third time was a charm. Though this time, when Jay got down on his knee to ask her to marry him there were no shoes or shin guards and Jess didn't talk or giggle or say anything. For the first time she was speechless. After what seemed like decades Jay literally said, "Jess you have to say something". And that's when she said yes.

Saturday Jay and Jessica said their vows and I was SO honored to witness and document their love!! What an amazing day!

We started out with some primping at Hotel Valley Ho:
Jessica and her girls looked so cute in these robes she found on Etsy:
Jay was SO excited to marry his bride:
Next, we made our way to The Silverleaf Club, where the rest of the day's festivities took place. Jessica's bouquet of reds, oranges, yellows, and peach showed off the wedding colors chosen because fall is such a special time of year for Jay and Jessica -- it's when they first met, when they attended homecoming together, and when they finally got to live in the same city together.
How gorgeous is this bride!?
Jay and his "Aladdin good looks" -- as Jessica refers to them:
I love that these two chose to see each other before the ceremony -- we had so much time to get great portraits of them around the property. It was so great to see them take huge breaths and melt into each other upon seeing one another for the first time.
The bridal party:
I loved the program, and the signature cocktail provided as guests arrived before the ceremony was a great touch as well:
Jessica's dad was so proud to walk her down the aisle and give her away:
Jay and Jessica wrote their own vows and there wasn't a dry eye in the place, especially when the groom started crying!
Yay! Husband and wife!
The reception details were gorgeous:
What a beautiful location for an indoor/outdoor reception!
And can you imagine dancing the night away here?
The first dance:
The mother/son dance was so sweet and the father/daughter dance started out that way as well:
Then THIS happened:
haha -- best ever!!
Jess and her sorority friends serenaded Jay:
These two are so sweet together!
Congratulations Jay and Jessica!! I adore you and it was so much fun to document your wedding day!
