Frivolous: playful, lighthearted, trivial; the little things in life that should be savored.
Highlight of the week: Eating chocolate fondue. BEST. THING. EVER.
Yes, I did this:
1 -- Cancelled dinner out with friends because I lost my voice.
2 -- Watched five movies in one weekend.
3 -- Gave in and wrote this post only after Sara encouraged me to. I was planning to be a loser and skip it this week.
There is ALSO no favorite outfit because I spent the whole week holding down my sofa in my PJs. Fortunately, after a doctor's appointment, numerous prescriptions, and this tasty surprise that we received in the mail yesterday (which is already gone, by the way), I am on the mend. It will be AMAZING to feel normal again.
Celebrating: My cute parents' 39th wedding anniversary!! My family went out Sunday night to celebrate. I decided to go, despite the fact that I had no voice. I had cancelled the night before with friends, because -- can you imagine not being able to have a conversation while eating dinner? But since it was my family, I figured they wouldn't mind if I was an inaudible drugged-up blob in the corner. They have to love me anyway, right? Plus I couldn't miss out on the opportunity to eat fondue. Unfortunately, I wasn't the kind of sick where I don't have an appetite and lose a bunch of weight. They were really sweet and tried to include me. But at one point in the middle of dinner, my dad said, "Boy, it would have been nice if Melissa could have joined us!" He's a funny one, my dad.
Dixie-dog surprised me on National Dog Day with flowers. Such a sweetie.
Feeling Blessed: Being sick is no fun. Being sick when you live by yourself and have no one to take care of you is the worst. Having a sweet neighbor friend who drops off homemade soup and sick-person-reinforcements after days spent alone without human contact is the biggest hug imaginable.
