Frivolous: playful, lighthearted, trivial; the little things in life that should be savored.

Highlight of the week: Vacationing in Orange County was incredible. I can't remember the last time I went on a non-work-related trip. And it's crazy to me that any place can have a high of 75 in the summer when I live in the perpetual furnace that is Phoenix. It was such a welcome escape and I had some great quality time with my family -- eating at sidewalk cafes, browsing through main street boutique stores, and lounging in the hot tub. At one point, we stuffed seven people onto this peddle bike (you have to imagine me wedged into the middle back seat) and rode around the charming residential streets of Coronado Island. My 13-year-old nephew, Noah, was in charge of the steering wheel most of the time and unfortunately for him, he had 5 back-seat drivers directing him constantly. I'm sure we were quite the spectacle.

Yes, I did this:
1 -- Chased down a man in a parking lot who appeared to be stealing my iPad. Turns out he was trying to be a good samaritan and return it to the girl who had just vacated the booth where I had placed it to save our seats. Good thing, cause he was about to get a beat down.
2 -- Made the official leap to Lightroom for post-production with a customized one-on-two training session with the Lightroom Master himself. Sara has applied some of what we learned. I have yet to do so. But I'm convinced we're headed in the right direction.

So The Bachelorette turned out better than I expected. I fully thought she was going to end up alone after the last two episodes. How do you recover from saying you are in love with someone on national TV and having them reject you, and still end up engaged to someone else a few days later? Only on The Bachelorette I guess! But I've thought Desiree was most compatible with Chris all along. And I'd like to point out that I publicly predicted that she would end up with him 7 weeks ago, when there were still 12 guys left. A friend sent me this parody video from Jimmy Kimmel Live, that I thought was really awful but also completely hysterical. I think Chris is an awesome guy for loving Desiree through the whole Brooks thing. A less secure man would not have handled that as well. I'm hopeful for them!

Celebrating: My friend Amy turned 26 and a few of us got together to surprise her with birthday bundt cake and an attempted harmonization of the traditional birthday song. Her reaction says it all.

Last week we celebrated when the October MJ2Day sold out. This week, one spot magically opened back up. (Ok -- really it wasn't magic, someone just had to back out for personal reasons.) You can find all the details and grab it here!

Counting My Blessings: I need to hear this truth over and over again. Boy, do I ever. But praise God that his peace is readily available to all who seek HIM rather than trying to figure it all out ourselves!
