Highlight of the week: Gobs of quality time with family and friends. Celebrated my dad's 59th birthday with dinner & a movie, poured my heart out to my sweet and long-suffering friend Pati, celebrated Christmas, and caught up with some friends & past clients who were in town for the holidays. Really sweet times.
Yes, I did this:
1 -- Spilled water all over myself. Out of a water bottle. While sitting stationary on the couch. It takes some serious klutz talent to do that.
2 -- Baked a pecan pie for the first time in my life.
Watching my 12-year-old nephew open his gifts on Christmas day has to be another highlight of my week. My parents and I went in together to get him an electric scooter that he kept asking his parents for repeatedly, even though it was already perched beneath the tree. When he opened the huge, heavy box, he exclaimed at the top of his lungs, "It's EXACTLY what I wanted!!!!!" haha! Brought back memories of the years when he would exclaim over every single gift that was partially unwrapped, "IT'S A BOX!" Kids and Christmas are the best combo!
Celebrating: My Savior's birth. Thank you Jesus for drawing near and providing salvation and hope! You are my everything!
My parents surprised me with a super-generous gift this year -- a Blu-ray/DVD player with wireless surround sound system. The only question is -- how long will it take me to a) get up the courage to open the box and attempt to set it up myself, or b) find someone to pay to set it up for me?
Feeling Blessed: I got to work fireside in my pj's all day long yesterday. SO COZY!
