Frivolous: playful, lighthearted, trivial; the little things in life that should be savored.
Favorite Outfit of the Week -- Cardigan: Anthropologie / Mint striped shirt: Boden / High-waisted skinny 7 For All Mankind jeans: Nordstrom / Boots: Cathy Jean / Boot socks: Madewell / Necklace: Shop at Hilton Mission Bay
Highlight of the week: Dinner and catching up with my college roommate Amy and her family. Amy and I went on a cruise together 5 years ago and I shot her wedding nearly 4 years ago now. Unfortunately, I don't think I've seen her since, so this was a much-needed, and very sweet time of reconnection. I'm so thankful for her and her sweet family.
Yes, I did this:
1 -- Watched the Miss Universe pageant and wondered to myself how many women would be on stage if only those with God-given boobs were left.
2 -- Gave away lemons out of the trunk of my car.
3 -- Pranked my neighbors during their Christmas party. We had a white elephant gift exchange and I got stuck with flower and butterfly shaped decorative wall stickers in bright primary colors. Mark and Ginny, the hosts, repeatedly emphasized that everyone needed to take their gifts home with them and not leave them behind, so my friend Amber and I locked ourselves in two bathrooms and the garage to decorate their home with them. It was way too much fun! The next morning I walked out to my car to find a giant flower sticker on the window. Ha!
Sara went out of town on vacation this week so I held down the fort myself and was forced to do a number of tasks I haven't done in over two years. I texted her four times and called her once but somehow I survived.
Celebrating: Christmas cookies. Literally. You'd think my life was a tribute to the cookie if you judged me by this week alone. I baked 8 dozen chocolate chip cookies, attended a super-fun cookie swap party, gave away cookies as gifts, received cookies as gifts, and decorated cookies at my friend Kindra's annual cookie decorating party. And if that wasn't enough...I ate cookies every day in between. Tune in next week to see a cookie-shaped me in my Frivolous Friday photos.
After an in-home canvas consultation, I went home with this fun Christmas gift. In case any of you who are reading this also own a vineyard and want me to shoot your wedding, yes, I am available.
Feeling Blessed: After an unexpected late-night plumbing fiasco, I am thankful for both the best brother-in-law in the world, and once-again-fully-functioning indoor plumbing.
