"They met in the anatomy locker room."
This sentence doesn't scream love story -- in fact, when I read it I imagined a sterile room with lockers filled with stuff I would rather not think about. However, for Llana and Michael, who were both in their first year of medical school at the time, the anatomy locker room marked the beginning. It was there that they agreed to get together outside of class (and cadaver labs) to watch some college football. When Llana arrived at Michael's apartment she discovered that, instead of a typical game-day meal of pizza, chips and dip, Michael had prepared a baked salmon dinner and chocolate chip cookies.
Regardless of which team won, Michael clearly scored the most points that night.
That was October 2007. On June 9th, 2012 while walking the beach, Michael asked Llana to marry him.
Saturday afternoon Llana traded in her white lab coat for a white gown, and Michael traded his for a tux as they became husband and wife. It was a special day, and I was so blessed to be able to witness and capture their love.

Next we headed across the street to The Ritz Carlton Phoenix where the rest of the day's festivities took place.
Llana was a stunning bride!

The Ritz was all decked out for Christmas so we made sure to take advantage of that for portraits:
The bridal party was a good looking bunch:
Llana's father walked her down the aisle:
And, like many couples I photograph, even though Michael and Llana had already seen each other, they both cried.

The ballroom was absolutely bedazzled with gorgeous details courtesy of Petal Pusher.
I was in heaven shooting these details! Each charger had a menu underneath it personalized with the guest's name. Amazing!
Thai dancers were brought in to entertain the guests while dinner was served:
The father/daughter dance was so sweet:
And the party continued all night long!
It was super-fun for me to see Llana's sister, Jamie, and her husband Matthew whose wedding I photographed three years ago this month! Their little guy, Aiden, was the ring bearer, and they have another baby on the way. Congrats guys!
