Jeremy & Amanda were married one year ago today on 6.24.12 in Weston, Missouri. You can see their full wedding blog post here.

This was a special wedding for me because Amanda is my cousin. I played with her growing up, and it was so fun to watch her marry the man of her dreams that day, in a blue dress she made for herself.

Today, in honor of these two, I asked them if they would be willing to share their favorite wedding photo and why it's so meaningful to them. They picked the above portrait on the left, which I love, and Amanda shared this about it:

"This particular photo shows exactly how we felt that day - Jeremy calm, content, and proud, and me feeling loved, chosen, and beautiful. We loved every moment of that day, and how easily everything seemed to just come together so that we could simply enjoy each other and the excitement of getting married. This photo captures how peacefully joyous we were regardless of the forgotten table covers, 106 degree heat with 80% humidity, and wedding party members who were missing due to visa issues. Our love has always been calming in the midst of circumstances, and it shows here."

Thank you so much for sharing Amanda and Jeremy!

I can completely corroborate what Amanda said above as well. I think at one point during the reception, I poured a glass of ice water over my head to try to stay cool (plus it didn't change what I looked like at that point -- ha!), but despite the heat, Jeremy and Amanda never complained once, and their joy never once faltered.

It's their first anniversary today, but these two wasted no time starting their family. Amanda gave birth to Penelope Rose in April -- 7 weeks early! Here are some photos from Penelope's newborn session with Rita Clark when Penelope was 3 weeks old:
I haven't been able to meet her yet, but I can't wait! Congratulations Jeremy & Amanda -- both on the 1st of many anniversaries AND on the birth of your sweet baby girl! Love you!
