Ashley & Adam were married seven years ago today on 10.22.05 in Gilbert, Arizona. Normally I would link to their wedding here, so you could see the original blog post of their wedding photos. But I've only been blogging for six and a half years, so Adam and Ashley were pre-blogging days. These two hired me when I was only 2 years into shooting weddings, so like many of my early clients, I repeatedly apologize to them that I wasn't a very good photographer back then -- haha! But I'm so glad they picked me. Adam & Ashley still have a special place in my heart. We hit it off from the beginning with our shared faith and use of eHarmony. Yep, these two met on eHarmony and are an awesome example of how God can use any means to bring together two people who are meant for one another.
Today, in honor of these two, I asked Ashely if she would be willing to share her favorite wedding photo and why it's so meaningful to her. She picked this black and white portrait, and I love what she shared about it:
"What I love about this image is the way it captures Adam and his heart. This picture means more to me today than when I initially saw it seven years ago. When I see it now, I see kindness and tenderness. On that day though, I could never have guessed how much I would grow to see such strength of character displayed in Adam's life over the course of the next seven years. I had no way of knowing then just how much Adam's love to me, and now to our two girls, would be characterized by kindness and tenderness. Many, many things have changed in seven years, but the man that I married has not, except to grow and strengthen as the man God has called him to be. Today I am thankful that God knew better than I did, just who I was marrying that day."
Goose bumps!! Last week I had the pleasure of meeting up with Ashley, Adam and their two adorable girls -- Charlee & Andee -- at Joe's BBQ for dinner. WHAT a sweet family! I loved seeing what amazing parents they are. They make an amazing team! And it was awesome to hear Adam talk about how much he loved being a dad to little girls. I'm one of two girls myself, and I know first-hand how important it is to have a dad who is gentle, sensitive and firm. He's definitely one of those dads who is just made for that important role. And to top it off, he's thankful for all the pink in his life!
