Engagement photos are such a great way to document your connection as a couple without the stress of the wedding day. AND they let you show off your personal style … because let’s be honest, you're going to want photos together in more than just your wedding clothes. We have written several blog posts to help you make the most of your engagement shoot including:

How to make your engagement shoot personal
What to wear for your engagement session

Today we're tackling another big one -- location! Arizona offers some amazing locations that work well for engagement photos, and we wanted to share a few of our favorites!

With its gorgeous red sandstone and vast natural forest areas, Sedona has countless jaw-dropping options for an engagement shoot. Many photographers recommend any location along Oak Creek Canyon, but there are so many others. The best thing about Sedona is its versatility! The red rock formations, lush greenery, and calming creeks all make a beautiful backdrop. Click here to see more of this engagement shoot in Sedona.
Papago Park
Papago Park is only 10 minutes from downtown Phoenix and is located right next door to the Phoenix Zoo. The sandstone buttes really make it unique. The trails are fairly moderate, making it a great location for couples who want the desert scenery without breaking too much of a sweat -- haha! The three small lakes give the park a little more diversity and the Botanical Garden is right around the corner! Click here to see more of this shoot at Papago Park.
Cave Creek
Cave Creek is a town north of Scottsdale, about 45 minutes from Phoenix. We love the unique desert landscapes throughout the neighborhoods surrounding The Boulders Resort. The mountains often resemble stacks of rocks and the desert plants are plentiful! Just make sure to wear good shoes, because there will be some hiking involved! Click here to see more engagement photos from the Boulders area in Cave Creek.
The Farm at South Mountain
South Mountain is a 17,000-acre park in Phoenix, Arizona with a beautiful desert landscape. The park itself is great for engagement shoots, but we personally LOVE The Farm just in front of the mountain. The Farm at South Mountain is an adorable venue for weddings and other events. The Farm is a perfect location if you are looking for a more lush, tree-filled location with less of a desert-feel. Click here to see more of this engagement shoot at The Farm at South Mountain.
The Boyce Thompson Arboretum
The Boyce Thompson Arboretum is a little pice of heaven located about an hour east of Phoenix. Forest, desert, garden, greenhouse … this location has virtually every setting you could ask for! We love the way it offers so many options, all within one State Park! Click here to see more from this engagement shoot at The Boyce Thompson Arboretum.
These are just a few of the amazing locations in Arizona that make for beautiful engagement photos. But the most important part of any engagement shoot isn't the venue ... it's you and your fiancé! Remember that as long as your connection and love for one another is the subject of the photos, the results of your engagement session will be fantastic no matter where you hold it!
