Today I'm continuing my series for photographers in which I share tips for organizing and systematizing your workflow. And when I say "workflow," I don't mean it in the narrow sense of post-processing. I mean the entire customer experience and set-up of our businesses. If you're just joining us, click here to find a complete list of the posts in The Workflow Series and get caught up!

Today I'm talking about a very basic workflow tool that every wedding photographer should have. You hopefully already have one. But I would be remiss if I didn't include this vital tool in a series about optimizing workflow. In a day and age where going paperless is the direction every business in America is headed, this is one exception. If you could only have one piece of paper with you when talking to a client or shooting their wedding, this should be it.

The Wedding Info Sheet.

My Wedding Info Sheet is one piece of paper by design. All of the info that I consistently need to access regarding a client fits onto one side of one paper. The client's contact information, the wedding day timeline, and their package info is all included. It's a wedding-at-a-glance, if you will.

If I get a phone call from a potential client, I grab a clipboard from my desk drawer with blank Wedding Info Sheets on it and start filling in the blanks as we chat. There are certain pieces of information I make sure I have filled out on it before meeting with a client in my home office. And during the meeting itself, I make sure to fill in notes as I get to know the bride and groom further. It's super-handy. Super-basic, but super-handy. And a must-have.

If you don't already have a Wedding Info Sheet created, put this task at the top of your to-do list. Or just buy mine for $29.99 here and customize.

I hope you've found this post helpful! If so, I would appreciate if you'd pass it on through Facebook or Twitter using the buttons below. To find out about more resources I offer photographers, click here!
